Patience!

By Sierra Smith - March 9, 2021

We have had a fairly mild winter so far, and the last couple of days have been sunny with a slight breeze. Even though that can change in an instant, it's in the air....... spring is just around the corner.  I'm ready to start hauling out my deck furniture and gardening gloves!  Patience has never been one of my strong points.

The red ring blackbirds arrived about 10 days ago and the yellow heads are not far behind. My husband feeds them every morning and the noise all around our house just before light is incredible!  I love having my first cup of coffee and watching the feeding frenzy taking place in my front yard when the feeders are filled.  A lot of our guests say they have never seen the yellow heads and are amazed at how vibrant they are.  Mule deer wander up our driveway and scarf down the bird feed, bald eagles, ospreys and hawks circle overhead and the cows below us are busy dropping the first babies of spring, so there is always something to watch this time of year.

Our bookings are picking up each day and we're looking forward to a busy summer meeting new friends and welcoming old ones.  Fly fishermen are already wading out into the river hoping to land a nice rainbow or brown trout early in the season.  If you've never been to Saratoga, we'd love to host your first visit to our wonderful little town.  Our beautiful, fully furnished guesthouse offers all the comforts of home with spectacular views of the valley. We certainly respect your privacy but are also available at a moments notice if you need help.  Feel free to contact us anytime with questions and we'll do our best to make sure your stay with us is one you'll remember.
