Summer Planning

I'm sure most people are either in the process of planning their summer activities or have already finalized their travel plans. If you are still trying to decide where to go or what to do, please consider a visit to Saratoga. Summer offers so many amazing experiences here in the valley. Right around the middle of June the pronghorn antelopes are having their babies, and if you have never seen a baby pronghorn, you need to put it on your bucket list! Almost 85% of all pronghorn births are of twins and they will melt your heart. They are so tiny that they almost look like shadows, but can they ever run! The herds here in Saratoga are quite impressive and well worth the trip to see.
On July 4th, in addition to our local parade, Our arts council hosts an amazing art show at our community center. There are top notch artists from all over the state showing their work, from oils and water color paintings to bronze and stone sculpture as well as mixed media pieces.
In August Saratoga features the annual Steinley Cup Microbrew Festival. Microbreweries from Wyoming are slated to compete for the coveted Steinley Cup at this 25th annual competition. The original and only official State of Wyoming Microbrew Competition will showcase breweries based in Wyoming. Last year we will had 11 microbreweries represented. Live music will provide entertainment for the half-day event. The park location features great playground equipment for the kids and horse shoe pits. Local and regional crafters will be showing their hand crafted creations so you can bring home your own trophy. A chili competition will also be held in conjunction with the festival. Local restaurants and individuals are encouraged to enter red chili, green chili, and salsa vie for the People's Choice award in each category.
If you love the great outdoors there is no better place to spend a few days....hiking, floating the river, four wheeling, horseback riding, fishing, wildlife viewing, picnicing by the river....the possibilities are endless.
